عَنْ عَائِشَةَ:
أنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لأَزْوَاجِهِ: «أَيَّتُكُنَّ الَّتِى يَنْبَحُهَا كِلَابُ [الحَوْأَبِ]؟» فَلَمَّا مَرَّتْ عَائِشَة بِبَعْضِ مِيَاهِ بَنِي عَامِرٍ لَيْلًا نَبَحَتِ الكِلَابُ عَلَيْهَا، فَوَقَفَتْ وَسَأَلَتْ عَنْهُ، فَقِيلَ لَهَا: هَذَا مَاءُ الحَوْأَبِ، قَالَتْ: مَا أَظُنُّنِي إِلَّا رَاجِعَةً؛ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَنَا ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ: «كَيْفَ بِإِحْدَاكُنَّ يَنْبَحُ عَلَيْهَا كِلَابُ الحوأبْ؟» قِيلَ لَهَا: يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤُمِنينَ! إِنَّمَا تُصْلِحِينَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ.
Translation

- ʿĀʾishah
✧ The Prophet ﷺ said to his wives: "Which of you will be barked at by the dogs of [al-Hawab]?" When Aishah passed by some of the waters of Banu Amir at night, the dogs barked at her. She stopped and asked about it, and it was said to her, "This is the water of al-Hawab." She said, "I think I should only return, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say to us one day: "How will it be for one of you when the dogs of al-Hawab bark at her?" It was said to her, "O Mother of the Believers, you are only reconciling between the people."
