أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْقَطَّانُ الرَّقِّيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الْحَمِيدِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو وَالْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ أَخْبَرَاهُ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا أَبَا بَكْرِ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ يُخْبِرُ
أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَخْبَرَتْهُ قَالَتْ لَمَّا وَضَعَتْ زَيْنَبُ جَاءَنِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَخَطَبَنِي فَقُلْتُ «مَا مِثْلِي تُنْكَحُ أَمَا أَنَا فَلَا وَلَدَ فِيَّ وَأَنَا غَيُورٌ ذَاتُ عِيَالٍ» قَالَ «أَنَا أَكْبَرُ مِنْكِ وَأَمَّا الْغَيْرَةُ فَيُذْهِبُهَا اللهُ وَأَمَّا الْعِيَالُ فَإِلَى اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ فَتَزَوَّجَهَا فَجَعَلَ يَأْتِيهَا» وَيَقُولُ «أَيْنَ زُنَابُ؟» حَتَّى جَاءَ عَمَّارٌ يَوْمًا فَاخْتَلَجَهَا فَقَالَ «هَذِهِ تَمْنَعُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَتْ تُرْضِعُهَا فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ» فَقَالَ «أَيْنَ زُنَابُ؟» قَالَتْ قُرَيْبَةٌ «وَوَافَقَهَا عِنْدَهَا أَخَذَهَا عَمَّارٌ» فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَنَا أَجِيئُكُمُ اللَّيْلَةَ» فَبَاتَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ثُمَّ أَصْبَحَ فَقَالَ حِينَ أَصْبَحَ «إِنَّ بِكِ عَلَى أَهْلِكِ كَرَامَةً فَإِنْ شِئْتِ سَبَّعْتُ لَكِ وَإِنْ أُسَبِّعْ أُسَبِّعْ لِنِسَائِي»

✧ Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, informed him: She said: When Zaynab gave birth, the Prophet ﷺ came to me and proposed to me. I said: 'One like me is not to be married. As for me, I have no child, and I am jealous and have dependents.' He said: 'I am older than you. As for jealousy, Allah will remove it. As for dependents, they are to Allah and His Messenger.' So he married her, and he began to come to her and say: 'Where is Zunab?' until one day 'Ammar came and took her away. He said: 'This one prevents the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' She was suckling her. Then the Prophet ﷺ came and said: 'Where is Zunab?' Quraybah said: 'And he found her with her; 'Ammar had taken her.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'I will come to you tonight.' So the Prophet ﷺ spent the night, then in the morning he said when morning came: 'You have honor before your family. If you wish, I will devote seven days to you, and if I devote seven, I will devote seven to my wives.'
