أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبِي عَنْ صَالِحٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَمَّا أَفَاءَ اللهُ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ مَا أَفَاءَ مِنْ أَمْوَالِ هَوَازِنَ طَفِقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُعْطِي رِجَالًا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ الْمِائَةَ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يَغْفِرُ اللهُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يُعْطِي قُرَيْشًا وَيَتْرُكُنَا وَسُيُوفُنَا تَقْطُرُ مِنْ دِمَائِهِمْ قَالَ أَنَسٌ «فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى الْأَنْصَارِ فَجَمَعَهُمْ فِي قُبَّةٍ مِنْ أَدَمٍ وَلَمْ يَدَعْ مَعَهُمْ أَحَدًا فَلَمَّا اجْتَمَعُوا» قَالَ «مَا حَدِيثٌ بَلَغَنِي عَنْكُمْ؟» قَالَ فُقَهَاءُ الْأَنْصَارِ أَمَّا ذَوُو الرَّأْيِ مِنَّا فَلَمْ يَقُولُوا شَيْئًا وَإِنَّمَا أُنَاسٌ حَدِيثَةٌ أَسْنَانُهُمْ فَقَالُوا «يَغْفِرُ اللهُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يُعْطِي قُرَيْشًا وَيَتْرُكُنَا وَسُيُوفُنَا تَقْطُرُ مِنْ دِمَائِهِمْ» فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنِّي لَأُعْطِي رِجَالًا حَدِيثٌ عَهْدُهُمْ بِالْكُفْرِ فَأَتَأَلَّفُهُمْ أَفَلَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ النَّاسُ بِالْأَمْوَالِ وَتَرْجِعُونَ إِلَى رِحَالِكُمْ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَوَاللهِ لَمَا تَنْقَلِبُونَ بِهِ خَيْرٌ مِمَّا يَنْقَلِبُونَ بِهِ» قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَدْ رَضِينَا فَقَالَ لَهُمْ «إِنَّكُمْ سَتَلْقَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً شَدِيدَةً فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوُا اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ» قَالَ أَنَسٌ «فَلَمْ نَصْبِرْ»

✧ He said: When Allah granted His Messenger what He granted of the spoils of Hawazin, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began to give a hundred camels to men of Quraysh. A man from the Ansar said, “May Allah forgive the Messenger of Allah ﷺ! He gives to Quraysh and leaves us, while our swords are still dripping with their blood.” Anas said, “That reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he sent for the Ansar and gathered them in a leather tent, allowing no one else to join them. When they had gathered, he said, 'What is this talk that has reached me from you?' The jurists among the Ansar said, 'As for those of us with understanding, they have said nothing. It was only some young men among us who said, “May Allah forgive the Messenger of Allah ﷺ! He gives to Quraysh and leaves us, while our swords are still dripping with their blood.”' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, 'I give to men who are recent in disbelief, seeking to win their hearts. Are you not pleased that the people go with wealth while you return to your homes with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? By Allah, what you return with is better than what they return with.' They said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah, we are pleased.' He said to them, 'You will certainly face after me intense selfishness, so be patient until you meet Allah and His Messenger at the Pond.' Anas said, 'But we did not remain patient.'”
