أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ قَالَ
بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ آخِذٌ بِيَدِي فِي بَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ لِثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ لَيْلَةً خَلَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَأَبْصَرَ رَجُلًا يَحْتَجِمُ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَبَّادُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ فَقَالَ عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ وَعَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ

✧ While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was holding my hand on a road, eighteen nights into Ramadan, he saw a man being cupped and said: "The cupper and the one cupped have broken their fast." Abu Abd al-Rahman said: Abbad b. Mansur combined the two hadiths and said: From Abu Asma', from Thawban, and from Abu al-Ash'ath, from Shaddad b. Aws.
