✧ He informed him that the Prophet ﷺ came to visit Abdullah b. Thabit and found that he had been overcome (by death). He called out to him but he did not answer, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ uttered the istirja' and said: "We have been overcome concerning you, O Abu al-Rabi'." The women cried out and wept, and Ibn Atik began silencing them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Leave them. But when it becomes obligatory, no woman should weep." They said: "What is the obligation, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Death." His daughter said: "I had hoped that you would be a martyr, for you had prepared your equipment." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, Allah has determined his reward according to his intention. What do you consider martyrdom?" They said: "Being killed in the way of Allah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Martyrdom is seven besides being killed in the way of Allah: the one who dies of plague is a martyr, the one who dies of a stomach ailment is a martyr, the one who drowns is a martyr, the one who dies under debris is a martyr, the one who dies of pleurisy is a martyr, the one who dies by burning is a martyr, and a woman who dies in childbirth is a martyr."
