✧ In weeping over the deceased

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ قُتِلَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَجَعَلْتُ أَكْشِفُ

عَنْ وَجْهِهِ وَأَبْكِي وَالنَّاسُ يَنْهَوْنِي وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَنْهَانِي وَجَعَلَتٍ عَمَّتِي تَبْكِيهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَبْكِيهِ مَا زَالَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ تُظِلُّهُ بِأَجْنِحَتِهَا حَتَّى رَفَعْتُمُوهُ»

✧... over his face, and I wept while the people were forbidding me, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not forbid me. My paternal aunt began to weep over him, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not weep over him, for the angels kept shading him with their wings until you lifted him up."
