أَخْبَرَنِي زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ أَبُو هَاشِمٍ دَلُّوَيْهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُتَوَكِّلِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ
أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ كَانُوا فِي سَفَرٍ فَمَرُّوا بِحَيٍّ مِنْ أَحْيَاءِ الْعَرَبِ فَاسْتَضَافُوهُمْ فَأَبَوْا أَنْ يُضَيِّفُوهُمْ فَعَرَضَ لِإِنْسَانٍ مِنْهُمْ فِي عَقْلِهِ أَوْ لُدِغَ فَقَالُوا لِأَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ هَلْ فِيكُمْ مِنْ رَاقٍ؟ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ نَعَمْ أَنَا فَأَتَى صَاحِبَهُمْ فَرَقَاهُ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ فَبَرِأَ فَأُعْطِيَ قَطِيعًا مِنْ غَنَمٍ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَقْبَلَهُ حَتَّى أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا رَقَيْتُهُ إِلَّا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ فَضَحِكَ وَقَالَ «مَا يُدْرِيكَ أَنَّهَا رُقْيَةٌ؟» ثُمَّ قَالَ «خُذُوا الْغَنَمَ وَاضْرِبُوا لِي مَعَكُمْ بِسَهْمٍ» [379] 10802 أَخْبَرَنِي زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ وَيَعْلَى وَمُحَمَّدٌ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ إِيَاسٍ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِنَحْوِهِ

✧ Some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were on a journey and passed by a tribe of the Arabs. They asked them for hospitality, but they refused to host them. Then a man among them was afflicted in his mind or was stung. They said to the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: “Is there anyone among you who can perform ruqyah?” A man among them said: “Yes, I can.” He went to their companion and performed ruqyah on him with the Opening of the Book, and he was cured. He was given a flock of sheep, but he refused to accept it until he came to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned that to him. He said: “O Messenger of Allah, by the One who sent you with the truth, I did not perform ruqyah on him except with the Opening of the Book.” He laughed and said: “How did you know that it is a ruqyah?” Then he said: “Take the sheep and assign a share for me along with you.” [379] 10802 Ziyad b. Ayyub informed us, he said: Abu Mu'awiya, Ya'la, and Muhammad narrated to us, they said: Al-A'mash narrated to us, from Ja'far b. Iyas, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Sa'id, from the Prophet ﷺ with something similar.
