أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَوْسَطَ الْبَجَلِيَّ عَلَى مِنْبَرِ حِمْصَ يَقُولُ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ يَقُولُ قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَامَ أَوَّلَ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي هُوَ ثُمَّ خَنَقَتْهُ الْعَبْرَةُ ثُمَّ قَالَ قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَامَ أَوَّلَ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي هُوَ فَقَالَ «سَلُوا اللهَ الْمُعَافَاةَ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يُؤْتَ عَبْدٌ بَعْدَ يَقِينٍ خَيْرًا مِنْ مُعَافَاةٍ»

✧ I heard Abu Bakr al-Siddiq say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us last year, may my father and mother be his ransom, then he was choked by tears. Then he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us last year, may my father and mother be his ransom, and said: “Ask Allah for well-being, for no servant has been given anything better after certainty than well-being.”
