أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ أَبِي رَزِينٍ الثُّمَالِيُّ الْحِمْصِيُّ عَنْ لُقْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَوْسَطَ الْبَجَلِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ عَامَ أَوَّلَ فِي مَقَامِي هَذَا وَعَيْنَاهُ تَذْرِفَانَ إِذَا ذَكَرَ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «سَلُوا اللهَ الْمُعَافَاةَ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يُعْطَ عَبْدٌ بَعْدَ يَقِينٍ خَيْرًا مِنْ عَافِيَةٍ»

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ deliver a sermon from the pulpit last year in this place of mine while his eyes were flowing with tears when he mentioned the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, saying: “Ask Allah for well-being, for no servant has been given anything better after certainty than well-being.”
