أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ دُرُسْتَ الْبَصْرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَأَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بَصْرِيٌّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كَانَ «يُصَلِّي بِنَا الظُّهْرَ فَيَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ يُسْمِعُنَا الْآيَةَ كَذَلِكَ وَكَانَ يُطِيلُ الرَّكْعَةَ فِي صَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ وَالرَّكْعَةَ الْأُولَى يَعْنِي فِي صَلَاةَ الصُّبْحِ»

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "He used to lead us in Dhuhr prayer, and he would recite in the first two rak'ahs, letting us hear a verse occasionally, and he would lengthen the rak'ah in Dhuhr prayer, and the first rak'ah, meaning in the Subh prayer."
