✧ The Prophet ﷺ fought Muharib Khasafa at Nakhl. They saw an opportunity from the Muslims, so a man from among them called Ghawrath b. al-Harith came and stood over the head of the Messenger of God ﷺ with a sword, saying: 'Who will protect you from me?' He said: 'God.' He said: The sword fell from his hand, and the Messenger of God ﷺ took the sword and said to him: 'Who will protect you from me?' He said: 'Be the best taker.' He said: 'Will you testify that there is no god but God?' He said: 'No, but I promise you that I will not fight you, nor be with a people who fight you.' He said: So he let him go. He came to his companions and said: 'I have come to you from the best of people.' When it was noon or afternoon—Abu 'Awana was uncertain—the Prophet ﷺ ordered the prayer of fear. He said: The people were in two groups: one group facing their enemy, and one group praying with the Messenger of God ﷺ. He prayed two rak'as with the group that was with him, then they left and took the place of those others, and those others came and prayed two rak'as with the Prophet ﷺ. Thus the Messenger of God ﷺ had four rak'as and the people had two.
