✧ I met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ after the night prayer, and I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, permit me to worship as you worship.'... He mentioned the hadith and said: He faced the qiblah and placed me on his right. Then he recited the Opening of the Book, then he began Surah al-Baqarah, not passing by a verse of mercy except that he asked, nor a verse of fear except that he sought refuge, nor a parable except that he reflected, until he completed it. Then he said the takbir, and I heard him say in his bowing: 'Glory be to my Lord, the Almighty,' until I thought he was saying: 'and with His praise.' He remained in his bowing for nearly as long as his standing. Then he raised his head, said the takbir, and prostrated, and I heard him say in his prostration: 'Glory be to my Lord, the Most High.' And I think he was saying: 'and with His praise.' He remained in his prostration for nearly as long as his bowing. Then he rose until he finished his two prostrations, and he recited the Opening of the Book, then he began Al 'Imran in the same way. Then I heard the call to dawn. Hudhayfah ؓ said: 'I have never performed a worship more difficult for me than that.'
