✧ On the day of Ḥunayn, the people fled from the Messenger of God ﷺ, and no one remained with him except one man called Zayd, holding the bridle of his gray mule. He ﷺ said: “Woe to you, O Zayd! Call the Muhājirūn, for God Almighty has taken a pledge from their necks.” Buraydah ؓ told me that he said: “A thousand of them came forward, having thrown down and broken their scabbards, then they came to the Messenger of God ﷺ until God granted them victory.”
