✧ I was at the well of Badr drawing water from it, when a strong wind came, then another strong wind came, the like of which I had never seen except the one before it, then a third strong wind came. The first was Mikail with a thousand angels on the right of the Prophet ﷺ, the second was Israfil with a thousand angels on the left of the Prophet ﷺ, and the third was Jibril ﷺ with a thousand angels. Abu Bakr ؓ was on his right and I was on his left. When Allah Almighty defeated the disbelievers, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mounted me on a horse. When I was settled on it, he made me ride, and I was on its neck. I supplicated to Allah Almighty, and He made me firm on it. I thrust with my spear until the blood reached my armpit.

machine translationThus said Ibn ʿUthmah, and he erred in it (wahima fīhi). Rather it is as Ibn Abī Fudayk, Khālid b. Makhlad and Ibn Abī Maryam narrated it, from Mūsā b. Yaʿqūb, from Abū al-Ḥuwayrith, from Muḥammad b. Jubayr b. Muṭʿim, from a man of Banū Awd who informed him, from ʿAlī.
