حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي سَمِينَةَ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الزَّمْعِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْحُوَيْرِثِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَ:
كُنْتُ عَلَى قَلِيبٍ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ أَمِيحُ - أَوْ: أَمْتَحُ - مِنْهُ، فَجَاءَتْ رِيحٌ شَدِيدَةٌ، ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ رِيحٌ شَدِيدَةٌ شَدِيدَةٌ، لَمْ أَرَ رِيحًا أَشَدَّ مِنْهَا إِلَّا الَّتِي كَانَتْ قَبْلَهَا، ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ رِيحٌ شَدِيدَةٌ، فَكَانَتِ الْأُولَى مِيكَائِيلَ فِي أَلْفٍ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ عَنْ يَمِينِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، وَالثَّانِيَةُ إِسْرَافِيلَ فِي أَلْفٍ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ عَنْ يَسَارِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، وَالثَّالِثَةُ جِبْرِيلَ فِي أَلْفٍ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ، وَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، وَكُنْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ، فَلَمَّا هَزَمَ اللهُ الْكُفَّارَ حَمَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى فَرَسٍ، فَلَمَّا اسْتَوَيْتُ عَلَيْهِ، حَمَلَ بِي فَصِرْتُ عَلَى عُنُقِهِ، فَدَعَوْتُ اللهَ، فَثَبَّتَنِي عَلَيْهِ، فَطَعَنْتُ بِرُمْحِي حَتَّى بَلَغَ الدَّمُ إِبْطِي

✧ On the day of Badr, I was at a well drawing water from it, when a strong wind came. Then another strong wind, stronger than the first, came, and I had never seen a wind stronger than it except the one before it. Then a third strong wind came. The first was Michael with a thousand angels on the right of the Prophet ﷺ, the second was Israfil with a thousand angels on the left of the Prophet ﷺ, and the third was Gabriel with a thousand angels. Abu Bakr was on his right and I was on his left. When Allah defeated the disbelievers, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mounted me on a horse, and when I settled on it, it bolted with me and I was on its neck. I called upon Allah, and He made me firm on it. Then I thrust with my spear until the blood reached my armpit.
