✧ They said to her, “What was the worst thing you saw the polytheists do to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?” She said, “The polytheists were sitting in the mosque, talking about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and what he said about their gods. While they were doing that, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came, so they all stood up to him. The news reached Abu Bakr ؓ, and they said, ‘Help your companion.’ He came out from us, and he had four braids, saying, ‘Woe to you! Would you kill a man for saying: My Lord is Allah, when he has come to you with clear proofs from your Lord?’” She said, “They left the Messenger of Allah ﷺ alone and turned to Abu Bakr ؓ.” She said, “Abu Bakr ؓ returned to us, and he did not touch any of his braids without some of it coming out with it, and he was saying, ‘Blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor.’”
