  وهذا الحديث لا نعلمه يروى عن ابن عباس إلا من وجهين أحدهما رواه طلحة بن عمرو عن عطاء عن ابن عباس فذكرنا حديث طلحة لضعف طلحة وذكرناه عن عبد الله بن عثمان عن سعيد عن ابن عباس إذ كان هذا الإسناد أصح وأولى أن يذكر وقد روي عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من غير وجه بألفاظ مختلفة فذكرنا كل حديث منها في موضعه بلفظه

One of them was narrated by Ṭalḥah b. ʿAmr, from ʿAṭāʾ, from Ibn ʿAbbās; we did not cite the hadith of Ṭalḥah because of Ṭalḥah's weakness (ḍaʿf). We cited it instead from ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUthmān, from Saʿīd, from Ibn ʿAbbās, since this chain is sounder and more fitting to be cited.
