وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ، وَآخَرُ مَعَهُ

أَنَّهُمَا أَتَيَا عَائِشَةَ ؓ فَقَالَتْ ؓ: يَا فُلَانُ، هَلْ سَمِعْتَ حَدِيثَ حَفْصَةَ ؓ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ ؓ: وَمَا ذَاكَ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ؟ قَالَتْ ؓ: فِيَّ تِسْعٌّ لَمْ تَكُنْ فِي أَحَدٍ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ، إِلَّا مَا آتَى اللهُ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - مَرْيَمَ ابْنَةَ عِمْرَانَ ؓ وَاللهِ مَا أَقُولُ هَذَا أَنِّي أَفْتَخِرُ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْ صَوَاحِبَاتِي. قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ ؓ: وَمَا هُنَّ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ؟ قَالَتْ ؓ: نَزَلَ الْمَلَكُ بِصُورَتِي، وَتَزَوَّجَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِسَبْعِ سِنِينَ، وَأُهْدِيتُ لَهُ ﷺ لِتِسْعٍ، وَتَزَوَّجَنِي ﷺ بِكْرًا لَمْ يَشْرَكْهُ فِيَّ أَحَدٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ، وَأَتَاهُ ﷺ الْوَحْيُ وَأَنَا وَإِيَّاهُ فِي لِحَافٍ وَاحِدٍ، وَكُنْتُ أَحَبَّ النِّسَاءِ إِلَيْهِ ﷺ، وَنَزَلَ فِيَّ آيَاتٌ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ كَادَتِ الْأُمَّةُ أَنْ تَهْلِكَ فِيهِنَّ، وَرَأَيْتُ جِبْرِيلَ - عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ - وَلَمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ ﷺ غَيْرِي، وَقُبِضَ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِي لَمْ يَكُنْ أَحَدٌ غَيْرَ الْمَلَكِ وَأَنَا.

✧ They both came to A'ishah ؓ, and she said: 'O so-and-so, have you heard the hadith of Hafsah ؓ?' He said: 'Yes, O Mother of the Believers.' 'Abd Allah b. Safwan ؓ said: 'And what is that, O Mother of the Believers?' She said: 'There are nine qualities in me that were not in any other woman except what Allah, Mighty and Majestic, gave to Maryam daughter of 'Imran ؓ. By Allah, I do not say this to boast over any of my companions.' 'Abd Allah b. Safwan ؓ said: 'What are they, O Mother of the Believers?' She said: 'The angel descended with my likeness; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married me when I was seven years old; I was given to him ﷺ when I was nine; he ﷺ married me as a virgin, no other person sharing me with him; revelation came to him ﷺ while he and I were under one blanket; I was the most beloved of women to him ﷺ; verses of the Qur'an were revealed concerning me, and the community almost perished because of them; I saw Jibril ﷺ, and none of his other wives ﷺ saw him besides me; and he ﷺ passed away in my house, with no one present except the angel and me.'
