حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

بَلَغَ صَفِيَّةَ أَنَّ حَفْصَةَ قَالَتْ بِنْتُ يَهُودِيٍّ فَبَكَتْ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَهِيَ تَبْكِي فَقَالَ «مَا شَأْنُكِ؟» قَالَتْ قَالَتْ لِي حَفْصَةُ أَنِّي بِنْتُ يَهُودِيٍّ فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِنَّكِ ابْنَةُ نَبِيٍّ وَإِنَّ عَمَّكِ لِنَبِيٌّ وَإِنَّكِ تَحْتَ نَبِيٍّ فَبِمَ تَفْخَرُ عَلَيْكِ؟» ثُمَّ قَالَ «اتَّقِي اللهَ يَا حَفْصَةُ»

✧ It reached Safiyyah that Hafsah had said, “(You are) the daughter of a Jew,” so she wept. The Prophet ﷺ entered upon her while she was crying and said, “What is the matter with you?” She said, “Hafsah said to me that I am the daughter of a Jew.” The Prophet ﷺ said to her, “You are the daughter of a prophet, and your uncle is a prophet, and you are under (married to) a prophet—so in what does she boast over you?” Then he said, “Fear Allah, O Hafsah.”
