✧ When Umar ؓ was struck, Hafsah ؓ entered upon him and said: O companion of the Messenger of Allah, O in-law of the Messenger of Allah, O Commander of the Faithful. Umar said to Ibn Umar ؓ: Seat me, O Abdullah, seat me, for I cannot bear what I hear. So he leaned him against his chest ؓ. Then he said to her: I adjure you by the right I have over you not to mourn me after this sitting of yours. As for your eyes, I do not control them. Indeed, no deceased person is mourned with what is not in him except that the angels curse him.
