✧ The Blessing of His Supplication ﷺ

وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، وَأَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ وَاللَّفْظُ لِيَحْيَى - قَالَا: ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُمَحِيُّ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ ابْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ؓ قَالَ:

كَانَ فِيمَا دَعَا لِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: اللَّهُمَّ، آتِهِ مَالًا وَوَلَدًا، فَمَا أَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا أَصَابَ مِنْ لِينِ الْعَيْشِ أَفْضَلَ مِمَّا أَصَبْتُ، وَلَقَدْ دَفَنْتُ بِكَفَّيَّ هَاتَيْنِ مِنْ وَلَدِي أَكْثَرَ مِنْ مِائَةٍ، لَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ فِيهِ وَلَدُ وَلَدٍ، وَلَا سِقْطٌ.

✧ Among what the Prophet ﷺ supplicated for me was: 'O Allah, grant him wealth and children.' I do not know anyone who attained from the softness of life better than what I attained, and I have buried with these two hands of mine more than a hundred of my children, not counting grandchildren or miscarriages.
