وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ، ثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، ثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، قَالَ:

إِنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ؓ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ: ( إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ اللَّيْلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطْئًا وَأَصْوَبُ قِيلًا )، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: إِنَّمَا نَقْرَؤُهَا: وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ أَقْوَمَ، وَأَصْوَبَ، وَأَهْيَأَ، وَأَشْبَاهَ هَذَا وَاحِدٌ

Translation

✧ Anas b. Malik ؓ recited this verse: "Indeed, the night rising is more intense in tread and more upright in speech." A man said to him: "We only recite it: 'and more upright in speech.'" He said: "'More upright,' 'more correct,' 'more apt' and the like are all one."
