✧ Then 'Umar b. al-Khattab ؓ lay down on his back in one of the walled gardens of Madinah, placing one leg over the other. The Jews used to fabricate lies about Allah, Mighty and Majestic, saying that Allah, Blessed and Exalted, finished creation on the Sabbath and then rested. So Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: 'And We certainly created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days, and no fatigue touched Us' (50:38). Some people used to dislike placing one leg over the other until 'Umar did it.
