وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي خَلَفٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جُمُعَةَ جُنَيْدَ بْنَ سَبُعٍ يَقُولُ:

قَاتَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَوَّلَ النَّهَارِ كَافِرًا، وَقَاتَلْتُ مَعَهُ آخِرَ النَّهَارِ مُسْلِمًا، وَكُنَّا ثَلَاثَةَ رِجَالٍ وَسَبْعَ نِسْوَةٍ، وَفِينَا نَزَلَتْ: وَلَوْلا رِجَالٌ مُؤْمِنُونَ وَنِسَاءٌ مُؤْمِنَاتٌ الْآيَةَ

✧ I fought the Prophet ﷺ at the beginning of the day as a disbeliever, and I fought with him at the end of the day as a Muslim. We were three men and seven women, and about us was revealed: 'Were it not for believing men and believing women…' (Q. 48:25).
