حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْمَكِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي خَلَفٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جُمُعَةَ جُنْبُذَ بْنَ سَبْعٍ، يَقُولُ:
قَاتَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَوَّلَ النَّهَارِ كَافِرًا، وَقَاتَلْتُ مَعَهُ آخِرَ النَّهَارِ مُسْلِمًا، وَكُنَّا ثَلَاثَةَ رِجَالٍ وَسَبْعَ نِسْوَةٍ، وَفِينَا أُنْزِلَتْ: وَلَوْلا رِجَالٌ مُؤْمِنُونَ وَنِسَاءٌ مُؤْمِنَاتٌ الْآيَةَ

✧ I fought against the Prophet ﷺ at the beginning of the day as an unbeliever, and I fought with him at the end of the day as a Muslim. We were three men and seven women, and concerning us was revealed: 'And if not for the believing men and the believing women...' the verse.
