✧ A guest came to the Prophet ﷺ, so he sent me to a Jew and said: 'Tell him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ says to you: Sell to us or lend us until Rajab.' I told him, and he said: 'By Allah, I will not sell to him or lend him except with a pledge.' I returned to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him, and he ﷺ said: 'By Allah, if he had sold to me or lent me, I would have repaid him. I am trustworthy in heaven, trustworthy on earth. Go with my iron armor.' So I went with it, and this verse was revealed as consolation to the Prophet ﷺ: 'And do not extend your eyes toward what We have given to pairs of them to enjoy.'
