✧ “Killing in the path of God Most High expiates all sins except the trust (amānah). The martyr in the path of God, Mighty and Glorious, will be brought and it will be said: ‘Return your trust.’ He will say: ‘From where can I return it? The world has already passed away.’” He said: “Then it will be said: ‘Take him to the pit (al-hāwiyah).’ When he reaches the bottom of the pit, his trust will be made to appear before him in the form it had on the day it was lost. He will lift it and place it on his shoulder, then climb up through the Fire until he thinks he has emerged from it, but it will fall, and he will fall after it forever and ever.” Then ʿAbdullāh recited: “Indeed, God commands you to render trusts to their owners” (Q 4:58).
