قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ( ؓ )
أَنَّهُ جَلَسَ مَجْلِسًا فَلَمَّا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَقُومَ قَالَ « سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ ». قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ: مَا هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ ﷺ: « كَلِمَاتٌ عَلَّمَنِيهِنَّ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ كَفَّارَاتٌ لِخَطَايَا الْمَجْلِسِ
Translation

✧ He sat in a gathering, and when he wanted to leave, he said: 'Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise; I bear witness that there is no god but You; I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You.' A man from the group said: 'What is this supplication, O Messenger of Allah?' He ﷺ said: 'Words that Gabriel ﷺ taught me, expiations for the sins of the gathering.'
