وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي دَاوُدَ الْأَعْمَى، عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ ؓ قَالَ:

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: « أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ مَنْ أَرَادَ اللهُ تَعَالَى بِهِ خَيْرًا عَلَّمَهُ إِيَّاهُنَّ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَنْسَهُنَّ أَبَدًا، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ضَعِيفٌ فَقَوِّ فِي رِضَاكَ ضَعْفِي، وَخُذْ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ بِنَاصِيَتِي، وَاجْعَلِ الْإِسْلَامَ مُنْتَهَى رِضَايَ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ضَعِيفٌ فَقَوِّنِي، وَذَلِيلٌ فَأَعِزَّنِي، وَفَقِيرٌ فَارْزُقْنِي

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said to me: "Shall I not teach you words which, if God Almighty intends good for someone, He teaches him them, and then he never forgets them ever? O God, I am weak, so strengthen my weakness in (pursuing) Your pleasure; take me by the forelock to the good; and make Islam the utmost of my satisfaction. O God, I am weak, so strengthen me; I am humiliated, so honor me; and I am poor, so provide for me."
