✧ Enjoining Good

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، ثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَمَّنْ أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ: إِنَّ عَلِيًّا ؓ قَالَ:

« لَتَأْمُرُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَلَتَنْهَوُنَّ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ، أَوْ لَيُسَلِّطَنَّ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ شِرَارَكُمْ ثُمَّ يَدْعُو خِيَارُكُمْ فَلَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهُمْ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  2. Sharīk ʿAmman
  3. In ʿAlī

✧ You shall enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, or God, Mighty and Majestic, will set over you the worst among you, then the best among you will supplicate but they will not be answered.
