✧ The Prohibition of Excessiveness in Religion

وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

« إِنَّ لِهَذَا الْقُرْآنِ شِرَّةً، ثُمَّ لِلنَّاسِ عَنْهُ فَتْرَةٌ، فَمَنْ كَانَتْ فَتْرَتُهُ إِلَى الْقَصْدِ فَنِعْمَ مَا هُوَ، وَمَنْ كَانَتْ فَتْرَتُهُ إِلَى الْإِعْرَاضِ فَأُولَئِكَ بُورٌ

Translation

✧ «Indeed this Quran has a period of keenness, then people have a period of slackness from it. If one's slackness is toward moderation, then how good it is, but if one's slackness is toward turning away, then those are the losers.»
