وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ أَبُو الْحَارِثِ، ثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: قَالَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ؓ:

اعْتَمَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي عُمْرَةٍ اعْتَمَرَهَا، فَحَلَقَ شَعَرَهُ فَاسْتَبَقَ النَّاسُ إِلَى شَعَرِهِ، فَاسْتَبَقْتُ إِلَى النَّاصِيَةِ فَأَخَذْتُهَا فَاتَّخَذْتُ قَلَنْسُوَةً، فَجَعَلَهَا فِي مُقَدَّمِ قَلَنْسُوَتِهِ فَمَا وَجَّهَهَا فِي وَجْهٍ إِلَّا فُتِحَ لَهُ

Translation

✧ We performed Umrah with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in an Umrah he performed. He shaved his hair, and the people raced to his hair. I raced to the forelock and took it. Then I made a cap and put it in the front of my cap; I did not direct it in any direction except that it was opened for him.
