حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى أَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ فَقَدْ قَلَنْسُوَةً لَهُ يَوْمَ الْيَرْمُوكِ فَقَالَ

اطْلُبُوهَا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوهَا ثُمَّ طَلَبُوهَا فَوَجَدُوهَا وَإِذَا هِيَ قَلَنْسُوَةٌ خَلِقَةٌ فَقَالَ خَالِدٌ «اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَحَلَقَ رَأْسَهُ وَابْتَدَرَ النَّاسُ جَوَانِبَ شَعْرِهِ فَسَبَقْتُهُمْ إِلَى نَاصِيَتِهِ فَجَعَلْتُهَا فِي هَذِهِ الْقَلَنْسُوَةِ فَلَمْ أَشْهَدْ قِتَالًا وَهِيَ مَعِي إِلَّا رُزِقْتُ النَّصْرَ؟» منقطع

✧ They sought it but did not find it. Then they sought it and found it, and it was a worn cap. Khalid said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed 'umrah and shaved his head. The people rushed to the sides of his hair, but I got to his forelock before them and put it in this cap. I have not witnessed a battle with it with me except that I was granted victory." It is mursal.
