✧ Ibn Mas'ud and Ubayy b. Ka'b ؓ disagreed about a man praying. Ubayy ؓ said: "He prays in one garment," and Ibn Mas'ud ؓ said: "In two garments." This reached 'Umar ؓ, so he sent for them and said: "Two men from the Companions of the Messenger of God ﷺ have disagreed on a single ruling; by which of the two sayings should the people act?" Then he said: "Verily, the saying is what Ubayy ؓ said, and Ibn Mas'ud did not fall short."
