✧ Prohibition of Asking About What Has Not Occurred

قَالَ: إِسْحَاقُ: أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو هِشَامٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا دَاوُدُ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ هُوَ الشَّعْبِيُّ، قَالَ:

سُئِلَ عَمَّارٌ ؓ عَنْ مَسْأَلَةٍ، فَقَالَ: كَانَ هَذَا بَعْدُ ؟ قَالُوا: لَا، قَالَ: دَعُونَا حَتَّى يَكُونَ، فَإِذَا كَانَ بَحَثْنَاهَا لَكُمْ

Translation

✧ 'Ammar ؓ was asked about a matter, and he said: "Has this happened yet?" They said: "No." He said: "Leave us until it happens; when it happens, we will examine it for you."
