✧ The Prophet ﷺ came out from the door of the house heading to the room, and he heard people disputing among themselves about divine decree, saying: 'Did not Allah, Exalted is He, say such and such a verse? Did not Allah, Mighty and Majestic, say such and such a verse?' He said: 'The Prophet ﷺ opened the door of the room, and it was as if a pomegranate seed had been burst on his face. He said: 'Is this what you were commanded? Or is this what you were sent with? Those before you were destroyed only by things like this: they struck the Book of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, some parts against others. Allah commanded you with something, so follow it, and He forbade you from something, so desist.' He said: 'After that, people did not hear anyone speak about it until Ma'bad al-Juhani came, and al-Hajjaj seized him and killed him.'
