machine translationAl-Zuhrī narrated it, and there is disagreement about him. Ṣāliḥ b. Abī al-Akhḍar narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from Sālim, from his father, and al-Awzāʿī followed him in that from al-Zuhrī. Yūnus b. Yazīd contradicted him and narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Hunaydah, from Ibn ʿUmar. Maʿmar and ʿUmar b. Saʿīd b. Surayj narrated it likewise, except that he said Ibn Abī Hunaydah. It was likewise reported from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Umāmī and from Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. Muslim, the nephew of al-Zuhrī. ʿAmr b. Dīnār narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from Ibn Hunaydah, from Ibn ʿUmar as a statement of the Companion (mawqūf). The hadith of Yūnus is more authentic (aṣaḥḥ).
