✧ Explanation of the Major Sins

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَعْبُدُ اللهَ تَعَالَى لَا يُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا، وَيُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ، وَيُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ، وَيَصُومُ رَمَضَانَ، وَيَجْتَنِبُ الْكَبَائِرَ، إِلَّا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ، قِيلَ: وَمَا الْكَبَائِرُ ؟ قَالَ ﷺ: الْإِشْرَاكُ بِاللهِ تَعَالَى، وَقَتْلُ النَّفْسِ

Translation

✧ There is no servant who worships Allah the Exalted without associating anything with Him, establishes prayer, gives zakat, fasts Ramadan, and avoids major sins, except that he will enter Paradise. It was said: What are the major sins? He ﷺ said: Associating partners with Allah the Exalted, and killing a soul.
