✧ Rebuke against imitating others

وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ السَّمَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَنْبَسَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ مَوْلَى أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ جَنَاحٍ مَوْلَى الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ، قَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

« خَيْرُ الشَّبَابِ مَنْ تَشَبَّهَ بِكُهُولِكُمْ، وَشَرُّ كُهُولِكُمْ مَنْ تَشَبَّهَ بِشَبَابِكُمْ

Translation

✧ The best of your youth are those who imitate your elders, and the worst of your elders are those who imitate your youth.
