✧ (Umar b. al-Khattab ؓ wrote to Abu Musa al-Ash'ari ؓ: Pray the noon prayer when the sun declines, the afternoon prayer while the sun is alive, white and clear, pray the sunset prayer when the sun sets – or when the sun has set – and pray the evening prayer when the twilight disappears until the first half of the night, for that is the Sunnah. And stand in darkness or in the dark, and lengthen the recitation.)
