- قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ كُرْزِ بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ:
إِنَّ يَحْيَى بْنَ يَعْمَرَ كَانَ يُفْتِي بِخُرَاسَانَ أَنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا اشْتَرَى [الْأُضْحِيَّةَ]، وَأَسْمَاهَا، وَدَخَلَ الْعَشْرُ أَنْ يَكُفَّ عَنْ شَعَرِهِ وَأَظْفَارِهِ حَتَّى يُضَحِّيَ. قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِسَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ. فَقُلْتُ: عَمَّنْ ؟ قَالَ: عَنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ

✧ Yahya b. Ya'mar used to give fatwa in Khurasan that when a man buys [the sacrificial animal] and names it, and the ten (days) enter, he should refrain from his hair and nails until he sacrifices. Qatadah said: 'I mentioned that to Sa'id b. al-Musayyab, and he said: Yes.' I said: 'From whom?' He said: 'From the companions of Muhammad ﷺ.'
