What scholars said about it

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationThis hadith of Qatādah is disputed with respect to Qatādah, and likewise the hadith of Umm Salamah is disputed; among its narrators are some by whom no proof is established. Most of the people of knowledge consider these two hadiths weak (ḍaʿīf).

    in سنن النسائي, p. 4372
  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationThe sound (ṣaḥīḥ) view in my opinion is that it is a statement of a Companion (mawqūf).

    in سنن النسائي, p. 4372
  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationAl-Dāraquṭnī declared it defective (muʿall) on the grounds that it is a statement of a Companion (mawqūf).

    in سنن النسائي, p. 4372
