✧ The Prohibition of Approaching a Menstruating Woman

وَقَالَ إِسْحَاقُ: أَخْبَرَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ،

« أَنَّهُ كَانَتْ لَهُ امْرَأَةٌ تَكْرَهُ الرِّجَالَ، فَكَانَ كُلَّمَا أَرَادَهَا اعْتَلَّتْ بِالْحَيْضَةِ، فَظَنَّ أَنَّهَا كَاذِبَةٌ فَأَتَاهَا فَوَجَدَهَا صَادِقَةً، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَتَصَدَّقَ بِخُمُسِ دِينَارٍ

✧ He had a wife who disliked men. Whenever he wanted her, she would claim to be menstruating. He thought she was lying, so he went to her and found her truthful. He came to the Prophet ﷺ, who ordered him to give charity of one-fifth of a dinar.
