وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو وَائِلٍ خَالِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ، ثَنَا فَهْدُ بْنُ عَوْفٍ، مَوْلَى بَنِي عَامِرٍ، ثَنَا نَائِلُ بْنُ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ أَبُو أَنَسٍ، ثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي رَزِينِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ قَالَ:

لَمَّا ظَهَرَ الْإِسْلَامُ كَانَتْ لَنَا بِئْرٌ فَخِفْتُ أَنْ يَغْلِبَنَا عَلَيْهَا مَنْ حَوْلَنَا فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَكَتَبَ لِي كِتَابًا: مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللهِ، أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَإِنَّ لَهُمْ بِئْرَهُمْ إِنْ كَانَ صَادِقًا، وَلَهُمْ دَارَهُمْ إِنْ كَانَ صَادِقًا. قَالَ: فَمَا قَاضَيْنَا بِهِ إِلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْ قُضَاةِ الْمَدِينَةِ إِلَّا قَضَى لَنَا بِهِ. قَالَ: وَكَانَ فِي الْكِتَابِ هِجَاءٌ. كَانَ: كَوُنَ

✧ When Islam appeared, we had a well, and I feared that those around us would overpower us over it. So I came to the Prophet ﷺ and he wrote for me a document: From Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah. To proceed: They shall have their well if he is truthful, and they shall have their home if he is truthful. He said: We never brought it to any of the judges of Madinah except that he ruled in our favor by it. He said: And in the document there was a misspelling: "kana" was written "kawuna."
