وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ، نَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، قَالَ:

جَاءَ عُيَيْنَةُ بْنُ حِصْنٍ وَالْأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ ؓ، فَقَالَا: يَا خَلِيفَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، إِنَّ عِنْدَنَا أَرْضًا سَبِخَةً لَيْسَ فِيهَا كَلَأٌ وَلَا مَنْفَعَةٌ، فَإِنْ رَأَيْتَ أَنْ تُقْطِعَنَاهَا ؟ قَالَ: فَأَقْطَعَهَا إِيَّاهُمَا، وَكَتَبَ لَهُمَا عَلَيْهِ كِتَابًا

Translation

✧ Uyaynah b. Hisn and al-Aqra' b. Habis came to Abu Bakr ؓ and said: O Caliph of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we have a salt marsh land in which there is no pasture nor benefit. If you see fit to grant it to us as a fief? He said: So he granted it to the two of them and wrote for them a document for it.
