✧ “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his neighbor. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent. And whoever of your women believes in Allah and the Last Day should not enter the bathhouse.” He said: I reported it to Umar b. Abd al-Aziz ؓ during his caliphate, and he wrote to Abu Bakr b. Muhammad b. Amr b. Hazm: 'Ask Muhammad b. Thabit about his hadith, for he is approved.' So he asked him, and he wrote to Umar ؓ, and he forbade women from the bathhouse.

machine translationWhat I hold, and Allah knows best, is that the most authentic (aṣaḥḥ) version is what Ibn Wahb narrated from Yaḥyā b. Ayyūb, from Yaʿqūb, from Muḥammad b. Thābit, from ʿAbdullāh b. Yazīd al-Khaṭmī, from Abū Ayyūb.
