✧ The Legitimacy of Meeting the Pilgrim and Congratulating Him on His Safe Arrival

قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ لَيْثِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ، عَنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ، قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ ؓ:

يُغْفَرُ لِلْحَاجِّ وَلِمَنِ اسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُ الْحَاجُّ بَقِيَّةَ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ، وَالْمُحَرَّمِ، وَصَفَرَ، وَعَشْرًا مِنْ رَبِيعٍ الْأَوَّلِ

Translation

✧ Forgiveness is granted to the pilgrim and to those for whom the pilgrim seeks forgiveness for the remainder of Dhu al-Hijjah, Muharram, Safar, and ten days of Rabi al-Awwal.
