Regarding the Divine Decree (Qadr)

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

لاَ يَزِيدُ فِي الْعُمْرِ إِلاَّ الْبِرُّ وَلاَ يَرُدُّ الْقَدَرَ إِلاَّ الدُّعَاءُ وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُحْرَمُ الرِّزْقَ لِلْخَطِيئَةِ يَعْمَلُهَا

Translation

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Nothing extends one's life span but righteousness, nothing averts the Divine Decree but supplication, and nothing deprives a man of provision but the sin that he commits.'"

    هذا خطأ رواه سفيان الثوري عن عبد الله بن عيسى عن عبد الله بن أبي الجعد عن ثوبان عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو الصحيح قلت لهما ليس لسالم بن أبي الجعد ها هنا معنى قالا لا

    machine translationThis is a mistake. Sufyān al-Thawrī narrated it from ʿAbdullāh b. ʿĪsā, from ʿAbdullāh b. Abī al-Jaʿd, from Thawbān, from the Prophet ﷺ, and that is the correct (ṣaḥīḥ) version. I said to the two of them: "Sālim b. Abī al-Jaʿd has no place here." They said: "No."
