machine translationZubayd b. al-Ḥārith al-Ayāmī narrated it from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Laylā, and there is disagreement about it from him. Yazīd b. Ziyād b. Abī al-Jaʿd narrated it from Zubayd, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Laylā, from Kaʿb b. ʿUjrah, from ʿUmar. Sufyān al-Thawrī contradicted him, and there is also disagreement about what he reported. Muʿādh b. Muʿādh said, from al-Thawrī, from Zubayd, from Ibn Abī Laylā, from his father, from ʿUmar. Yaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān said, from al-Thawrī, from Zubayd, from Ibn Abī Laylā, from the trustworthy one, from ʿUmar. The companions of al-Thawrī contradicted both of them: Zāʾidah, Abū Nuʿaym, Wakīʿ, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Mahdī, ʿAbdullāh b. al-Walīd al-ʿAdanī, Mihrān b. Qays al-Malāʾī, Sharīk b. ʿAbdullāh, Muḥammad b. Ṭalḥah, Qays b. al-Rabīʿ, Abū Wakīʿ al-Jarrāḥ b. Malīḥ, ʿAlī b. Ṣāliḥ b. Ḥayy, Saʿīd b. Simāk b. Ḥarb, ʿAbdullāh b. The preserved (maḥfūẓ) version from Yāsīn is from Zubayd, from Ibn Abī Laylā, from ʿUmar, and that is the correct one, God willing.
