حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ( ح ) وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هَاشِمٍ زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ شُبَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ:

كَانَ [أَحَدُنَا] يُكَلِّمُ الرَّجُلَ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ، حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ: وَقُومُوا لِلهِ قَانِتِينَ. زَادَ فِي حَدِيثِ هُشَيْمٍ: فَأُمِرْنَا بِالسُّكُوتِ، وَنُهِينَا عَنِ الْكَلَامِ.

✧ One of us used to speak to the man beside him in prayer, until the verse was revealed: 'And stand before Allah, devoutly obedient.' Added in the hadith of Hushaym: 'So we were commanded to be silent and forbidden from speaking.'
